"S.O.S" s02e19

U.S Airing: Wednesday 12th April 2006
U.K Airing: Not announced.
Summary: Rose is surprisingly and vehemently opposed to Bernard's plan to create an S.O.S signal. Romantic sparks are rekindled between Jack and Kate when they trek into the jungle to propose a trade with The Others. Locke begins to question his faith in the island.

My favourite episode so far from season 2, S.O.S not only explores Rose and Bernard's past, but continues the "Henry Gale" saga. But this particular fanlisting isn't about Henry, its about Rose and Bernard, so I will only mention them. Rose and Bernard met when Rose's car got stuck in the snow and Bernard offered to help. Five months later, Bernard knew that he was in love, so he proposed to Rose, who dropped a bombshell of her own - she was dying of cancer. It had been in remission, but now was back. Despite this, Bernard still wanted to marry her and they did.

Shortly after, Bernard took Rose to Australia, where she met Issac, a famous healer. But when Isaac told Rose he couldn't help her, Rose decided to lie to Bernard because if she told him the truth he would spend their last days trying to save her.

Like Locke, the island healed her of her cancer, which is why she didn't want to leave. Bernard realised this at the end of the episode and told her if she didn't want to leave then neither would he.

In the end it was a very sweet episode, and the final conversation between the two actually made me tear up a little.

...Oh yeah, and Michael returned at the end of the episode. About time. :D
